WebSep 21, 2024 · I'm using nanosleep and with the default scheduler policy SCHED_OTHER. Using this with a desired frame time of 16.67ms, frame times jump from 16ms to around 30ms basically every alternate frame, e.g. 30ms, 16ms, 31ms, 16ms, 29ms. This is under no stress at all. I assume this is something to do with the granularity of nanosleep. WebThe Scheduler follows a specific scheduling policy that can be enabled when the Scheduler component is first initiated. We will discuss the policies in detail in Section IV. Once the Scheduler decides on a request that needs to be dispatched, it groups the function’s information with the GPU address and forwards them to the function’s ...

Did you know?

Granularity affects the performance of parallel computers. Using fine grains or small tasks results in more parallelism and hence increases the speedup. However, synchronization overhead, scheduling strategies etc. can negatively impact the performance of fine-grained tasks. Increasing parallelism alone cannot give the best performance. In order to reduce the communication overhead, granularity can be increased. Coarse grained ta… http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/docs/scheduling.html
