WebAug 18, 2011 · As Wasko stated, the shift shaft seat at the crankcase doesn't get lubed - the shift paw covers the boss where the shaft fits at the crankcase. This will eventually effect every gear though, not just neutral. If the shifter return spring is a little weak you'll end up with false neutrals and the shifter doesn't return to its normal position. If vehicle will move and won't shift running one of two things, primary bearing is gone or primary is not opening up. Use these videos I just made to see what you got.
